40 Songs That Helped Me During Depression

I believe that music is definitely a ministry. The power of sound and what we allow into our hearing should not be underestimated! Think of this, the first known thing God did was speak, and by speaking, therefore by sound, all things were created. Sound is the first connection most of us have to others, even before we are born. From our mother's womb and until we can no longer hear, music puts us in a certain mood, and brings certain energy and learning to us. When we worship, there's singing/music. When we have gatherings and celebrations, there's singing/music. When we speak of heaven, there's always a mention of singing.

Below, I have shared the songs that have helped me through my depression. I encourage you to take some time to read the lyrics of the songs, especially if you don't prefer to listen to it. Different songs helped me in different ways. Some songs encouraged me, some helped me feel I wasn't alone (since there was someone singing about it), some made me feel understood, some helped me get up or get moving, some gave me strength, hope, inspiration, and positive mental energy, and some helped me take my mind off of the pain.
